Beautify Corpus Christi Association, in partnership with KaBoom, a national non-profit, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, helped the dreams of neighborhood children take shape into a new playground at Dilworth Park on the city’s westside.
On November 5, 2016, more than 200 volunteers showed up to help construct the new playground located at 3000 Elgin St. The playground’s design was inspired by drawings submitted by neighborhood children in September.
An older park, Dilworth didn’t have much to offer kids in the local area. Now, after about $300,000 in materials and the sweat equity of community volunteers, the park is home to new swing sets, slides, seesaws and climbing equipment, shade structures and a walking trail.
The beautiful park gives more than 1,250 neighborhood children a place to play and make new childhood memories.
